Unser Pyramid Localization System (kurz PLS) kann diese Wünsche und noch viele weitere erfüllen. Es funktioniert so: An der Decke Ihres Verkaufsraumes oder Restaurants werden etwa alle 5 Meter Sensoren ähnlich wie Rauchmelder angebracht, die wir Receiver nennen. Ihre Kunden oder Gäste können sich mit eigenem Smartphone oder mit einem durch unseren Kiosk automatisch herausgegebenen kleinen „puck“ an dieser Infrastruktur „anmelden“. Die Position im Raum kann nun mit ca. 20 cm Genauigkeit bestimmt werden. PLS funktioniert auf Basis unhörbaren Schalls, dessen Wellenlänge dem Ultraschall sehr nahe kommt. Ihr Smartphone oder der kleine „puck“ sendet auf Kommando Ultraschall „Tschirps“ aus, die von den Receivern an der Decke empfangen werden, und deren unterschiedliche Ankunftszeit zur Berechnung des Standortes führt.
